I love them. I've been sitting at work watching one for the last hour. The guy has been driving a stolen Altima on its front rims with a dragging bumper around L.A. surface streets. So I'm sitting at work, watchng it on my computer, until it ends. I love that you never quite know when or how it ends. I've seen people crash, get chewed by dogs , shot by the cops, and just pull over and lay down on the asphalt. This guy has been very entertaining, as he has been throwing stuff out of the car, hanging out the window, doing some kind of sign language and just driving very erratically. Like, right now, he's doing donuts in an intersection.
I hate taxes. It's not just because I hate paying the money. I hate that they are so complicated. I nearly avoided fines this year because I didn't have enough money withheld from my checks considering the interest income I made as well as some additional stipends outside of my regular salary. Next year I'm going to have capital gains to worry about as well. Ugh.
So I went with Amy to the Renaissance Fair a couple weekends ago. She got free tickets from a couple of guys involved with it who she ran into when out with some friends. The children's hospital she works at is doing a renaissance themed prom so she talked to them about possibly involvement. So anyway, we went so she could talk to some of the organizers.
Dang! He got pitted and just stepped out and lay down on the pavement. I was hoping he would at least try and run on foot. At one point he stopped on a bridge over the LA river and opened the door. I had my fingers crossed that he would try and jump into the river, but no such luck.
So, back to the fair. So we go, and there were a lot of large people. There was a disturbing amount of spillage over the top of corsets. We watched a mock joust competition and saw a comedy show and browsed some merchant tents. One of my favorite parts was eating a huge turkey drumstick straight off the bone. One can't help but feel manly when gnawing meat off a large bone.
So, the school year is winding down. We've got just over 4 weeks of instruction, then finals week, then senior week, and then meetings for a week. So I'm not actually done until June 15th, but things get really easy after May 25th.
