Thursday night I went to Downtown Disney in Anaheim to do some dancing with some friends. It was different from the usual dance experience as it wasn't a dance. A few weeks ago I went camping with a couple of people I know from dancing. On our drive back home I was flipping through the ipod of one of the girls and found a terrific blues artist. When she told me he's primarily a street musician who plays outside at Downtown Disney and sells his cds to make money I went looking for him online to find out when he was playing. He plays most weeks, Thursday-Saturday for a couple of hours in the evening. So I put a group together and we went and listened and danced. We got free music, and he sold several cds and developed some contacts who can pass his name along to dance promoters and organizers, as the blues dancing scene around here is growing.
