The weather here has been back and forth, with days in the upper 50s followed by days in the 20s. As such, we've been taking on some fun projects that we can do inside. When the weather is nice Collyn has started doing some yard work to prep for spring planting and I've been doing bits here and there with the boat to make some improvements.
I found a cute plush robot online and copied the design for a birthday present for the new nephew. It took an inordinately large amount of time to sew as much of the stitching had to be done by hand and there were lots of corner.
We dubbed him sleepy robot and he sat around our house for a couple weeks waiting for the birth of his owner and endearing himself to us and our friends.
At one point I started taking pictures and they were cute and funny enough that it all got collected into a picture book. Below are a sampling of some of the images. Warning: They are adorable enough to cause squealing.
I also finally bought the bit I needed to drill a hole in granite tile and assembled the clarinet lamp that I have been planning on doing for a couple of years. It's sitting on a stool. The base under the granite tile is only 1" tall. It's inset to create a floating effect.
The other big news is that our cat, who stopped eating back in early January, has been diagnosed with feline diabetes. The good news is that with monitoring and control as well as a very low carb, high protein diet (all meat), many cats can recover. He's lost most of his extra weight and we've nursed him back to health, but at this point he's used up all off his vet funds. It's a pain to have to test his blood sugar and inject him with insulin, but he's making it worse by still not eating enough, and not eating when he needs to for us to be able to give him insulin with making him hypoglycemic. He's closing in on 13 years old, so he isn't young. I'm not sure how much longer he'll last, and I'm not willing to force treatment on him if it makes him unhappy and afraid of us, so I'm not sure how much longer he'll be around. Collyn has been through the deaths of many pets, especially since none of hers ever made it to 12, but this will be a first for me.

I'm so sorry to hear about (Ahmen, Ahman, Aamen, you know who I'm talking about.) I hope he starts getting used to the shots. You are right, the robot pictures are awesome! Such a cute idea and I love the clarinet lamp too.
So sorry about Aamen. I too like the lamp.
