A good end

This last week was long. I'm not entirely sure why, but I'm crediting at least part of it to my back. On monday, I managed to tweak my back at soccer practice. I think it was due to overstretching it the night before. The muscles had been twinging a bit all day, and in the middle of a relatively physical drill I banged into a kid and the muscles just locked up. I spent the rest of practice lying on the ground, hoping I would be ok to drive home. It wasn't a pinched nerve, just some muscle spasms, so I kept a heating pad on it all the next day while I was at my desk. It's still tense in the mornings, but it doesn't bother me at all to run around. I probably just need a good massage.

We had a good sized winter swell come in yesterday, so I got some wave riding in. I didn't have time to go for long, but I caught a handful of 8'+ waves. The north pacific is setting up a bunch of storms, so I'm hoping we'll have solid swell through the break.

I'm not sure what all I'm going to do over break. I need to look into some investment options and get my finances in order. I may do a little shopping. I bought a sport coat a month or so ago, and I'm absolutely loving it. I can wear it with jeans or slacks. The day after a messed up my back I wanted to dress casual for school, so I did, and then just threw the jacket on. Tada! Now I'm dressed up. So I'm thinking of getting another one.

There hasn't been much going on in my life. It's just been a continuation of work and dancing. The soccer team is looking good. We tied Laguna Beach on tuesday, and they're a division 2 school, so I was very happy with that. We got outplayed pretty significantly, but they couldn't finish and our defense did a good job of making them work for good looks at the goal. Plus, our keeper had a couple of fantastic saves.
