So it's winter break time and I'm sitting in a chilly apartment wrapped up in a huge quilt. I think my feet are actually frozen. It's been chilly the last few days and since my place is old and thus poorly insulated, it has been cold inside as well. Sure, I could turn on the heat, but it's not that cold. I just need to put on some warm clothing and socks and I'll be fine.
Unfortunately, the surf is flat. I was hoping to get some good wave riding in, but that is looking pretty doubtful. I'm going camping the week after christmas up around San Francisco and may possibly head up to the northern redwoods as well. I'm going with Amy as this is her graduation vacation since everyone backed out of her original trip plan to Costa Rica. I'm taking my bodyboarding stuff because we're driving up highway one, and if I see good waves, I'm stopping. I'm also taking my dancing shoes because I want to hit up the big weekly dance in Oakland. I've got my fingers crossed for good weather, as it often rains this time of year.
So for now I'm lazin' around, watching movies, snacking on toffee and chocolate and trying to motivate myself to get some exercise so when I get back from break I can run the soccer team into the ground. I did end up buying a new sport coat with some gift card money. I ended up with around $400 in gift cards from students and the parents committee as well as one from my department. So I did a little shopping on Saturday as there were some good sales.
