It was cool for most of the trip, with the exception of our day in Cabo San Lucas, so we didn't do much laying out in the sun. We did spend a lot of time in the jacuzzi, where one day we met a group of several Indian families from the bay area that take a big trip together every year. There were 32 people in their group. Most of the people we talked to were from various places in California.
In Cabo, we spent the afternoon with one of my coworkers and her husband. They purchased a vacation property in Cabo that had recently been completed and were spending 10 days there, sans kids. We had such a great afternoon with them that we completely forgot to take any pictures, so the only ones we have are from the ferry boat back to the cruise ship and a few more from the deck of the ship.
When we got to Ensanada it was sunny but cool. We did a lot of walking around the downtown area, ducking into various shops. I couldn't quite get up the nerve to try the ceviche from the street vendor with the large line of locals around his cart. I bought a metal fish from a metal art shop that will be going in my kitchen. It's kitschy, but this is sort of what makes it a good souvenir.
I did get seasick for one evening. On our way back we were running headlong into some pretty heavy swell. They had to cancel the evening shows because the dancers would have been all over the stage. Some of the crew were talking about how atypical that amount of rolling was. The first night out of Cabo I woke up in the middle of the night from the noise and jolt of the bow (our room was in the bow) of the ship riding up swells and then crashing into the water. We had Dramamine, so I was feeling ok. However, the last night, leaving Ensanada, the swell was big and smooth so it was a constant rise and fall of the ship. I had taken some Dramamine but as we sat down and started eating dinner the food wasn't tasting good and my stomach was hurting. By the time the main course came I needed to get up top, as if I can see the horizon I'm fine. Just as I got up onto deck my stomach kicked dinner out of it. I went to my room to lay down and made it about an hour before vomiting again. After that, the sickness passed.
I was hoping we would get to do some dancing, but the jazz band was, as I expected, more of a bebop group than a swing group. They were good, but that style just isn't all that danceable. We did spend in a evening in the dance club dancing to disco, which with a rolling ship, makes things a little tough at times.

It's official, I'm drooling over your cruise.

Looks like tons of fun. The kids loved getting the postcard. I can't believe how huge that ship is.
