Soccer

Two weeks ago I started playing soccer with an adult league team. Nourredine, the head varsity coach plays on several and this one is located just a few miles from me in the city of Laguna Niguel. We had our first game last weekend and won 6-1. We had our second game yesterday at 7:30a.m., made even worse due to the daylight saving time change. Despite controlling possession and spending a good part of the game attacking, we lost 0-2. I had one good opportunity but a wet ball and a miss hit led to my shot curving a few feet wide.

Most of the guys on the team are older and middle eastern, persian or arabic. There are a couple of eastern europeans as well as some white guys like me. It's a pretty big mix. This is the first team I've played on in over a decade, so it's been mice playing a bit more formal soccer. We have practices once a week as well, which is nice as there are several new players and it was obvious in our last game that we need to practice together to get comfortable with how to build an attack together.
