I went up LA today to attend a taping of So You Think You Can Dance. One of my students, who also swing dances, is on a email list for audience tickets for several shows and she got tickets for four, although just 3 of us went. It was the first results show for this season, so I got to see the first two dancers sent packing. Unfortunately we got their a little late, so by the time they seated everyone we were left with a view of the stage that was largely obstructed. We did get to see a little bit of dancing, since the bottom 6 dancers had to dance solo routines to hopefully redeem themselves. Their was also a tango couple that did a showcase demonstration. By the time I got back home it was an 8 hour ordeal for a one hour taping. I may do it again if I get the chance to see an actual episode rather than just the results show.
