Bang! Bang!

This last weekend we drove way out into the desert to camp, shoot guns, set off fireworks, etc. It was a great weekend, even though it got really cold at night. Collyn had a worse time of it than I do, mostly because I packed warmer clothes. During the day the weather was great, sunny and warm without being hot. There were about 14 of us, most of whom I didn't know, although Collyn had met several of them during a similar trip months ago that I wasn't able to make. For most of the group, this is a regular thing that they do every few months. And now, some entertaining photos!

A couple of the guys went rabbit hunting and shot two. They were butchered but the meat was taken home rather than cooked on the spot.

This is a parasite larvae that was inside one of the rabbits. It's evidently pretty common.

Off in the distance you can see the Salton Sea.

The fire developed a neat little vortex. It was stable and lasted for about 20 minutes. I took a bunch of pictures of it, but didn't even think to get some video.

Collyn, love your expression on the video after firing all of those shots. Pretty cool to get to shoot that. And Warren, do you just travel with that moustache in case you need it? It was perfect for that picture.

It looks like it was a fun time.

Sounds like a lot of fun. I loved it when Collyn looked at the camera laughing! And the larvae? Soooo Yuck! I hope there's none of those in our rabbits. Ewww!

I take back everything I've said. You'll fit in in Kentucky just fine!

I bring the mustache along when the situation warrants, which it very much did this time.
