It's been a busy couple of weeks. Soccer started up, so I've been getting up early in the morning. This year the weather has been about 15-20 degrees cooler than the same time last year, so soccer has been much more enjoyable as we aren't all baking to death in the heat. One morning it was below 60 and I was cold. That was a new experience for summers here. The teams are looking pretty good. We have a very large group of talented freshmen.
Mom and Dad made it into town. Last weekend we went to the waterfront blues and barbecue festival with them again, as we had gone last year as well. They headed out of town this morning but will be back in a few months. We missed the the Owensboro bluegrass festival as we just got busy with other stuff. On another music note, our band has been doing a little playing around town. It's been fun and we've been well received.
I've been in and out of school quite a bit this summer, as we had to hire a new science teacher after the academic year ended, and we already had another new science hire, so I've been helping them get settled in and curriculum planned out as we've made some changes to our middle school curriculum. The middle school is also adding a weekly design course that supports the science skills curriculum so I've been doing some work with that as well.
Much of my energy has been focused on the boat. I'm hoping for an early summer launch next year, but I'm not sure how much I'll actually be able to do during soccer season and the winter, so in a few weeks work may stall until spring.

We missed the two of you this weekend. Bummer that you had soccer but glad that the weather is cooler than last year. I remember that heat.
