Dance-A-Thon
It’s 5:30 a.m. and I haven’t slept since last night, which was less than 6 hours because I didn’t get to bed until after 3a.m. due to being out dancing, and then woke up at 9:00 due to it being Saturday and my body not allowing me to sleep in after getting up for work all week. I rolled into the dance-a-thon about 2p.m. So it’s been a lot of dancing, hanging out, drinking red bulls, trying not to stuff myself on baked goods, and even a little pool and hot tub time. This year it’s being held at the Irvine 24 hr Fitness club, which is a huge club, largely catering to executives. They have a huge gymnasium that we’re using, and they also have a pool and a hot tub which we put to good use early in the evening. The music has been really good, with lots of live bands. They’ve got a second, smaller room with dj’s playing a bunch of different styles. Mikey did a soul set at 2a.m. which was a lot fun. At this point, we’ve raised over $130,000 for City of Hope. I’m a little worried, because I have a soccer banquet to go to this evening, and I’m going to be dead tired. Then I have a late day on Monday, so I’m not going to be able to catch up on sleep until Wednesday. This is not going to be a pretty week.
